Highly requested tutorial! I know it sounds scary to contour your face. There is so many things that can go wrong! But if you follow this tutorial, it’s pretty fault free, unless you use too much product!

1. First step is to start with your foundation, or normal face. Here I am, sans any makeup besides a light layer of foundation! I look weird, huh? ;)

2. Find where your cheek bones are! You may say “oh, I don’t have any” but yes you do. Every single human does! I use a brush handle to find mine because it gives a straight line for me to go off of.

3. Right where the bottom of your cheek bones are, which is where your brush handle should’ve been, draw a line. I use a tapered blending brush to draw my first line, It gives a more chiseled effect and gives you less of a chance to get that ” my face is dirty” look!

4. Blend that line out! I use an angled contour brush because it gets it just right for me. The trick is to not blend up, blend down. You can add some more product on your brush to help it blend easier, but not too much! Also, not pictured, but you can contour your jawline too. Just sweep some of your product underneath your jaw from one ear to the other!

5. Apply your highlighter to the tops of your cheek bones and your temples. You may also add it to the top half of the bridge of your nose, a bit to the middle of your forehead, and your chin. This is where you catch light, so we are going to HIGHLIGHT it! :D I use a liquid because I feel like you get better results.

6. Blend out! This is what the final product looks like on me. Yay! No more flat cheeks!

7. Is a photo of the products I used. Wet N Wild Eyeshadow palette in Vanity. The matte colors only! And I used ELF’s Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal.

Wait for Me, Daddy, 1940

Taken in New Westminster, this is probably the most iconic wartime photo to come out of Canada. It was featured in Life Magazine, Liberty, Time Magazine, Newsweek and innumerable other publications.

Many years later, Chuck Davis interviewed the boy in the picture and wrote about it here.

Why do you have to tell me it’s over and then come back only to say that you still love me?
Why do you choose to say something nice, then turn into an asshole afterwards?
Why can’t you just let me go and recover through this?
Why can’t you just talk to me normally rather than being rude to me?
Why can’t you answer questions without turning something around at me?
Why don’t you just make up your mind and stop causing me pain?

I’m not here for YOUR fucking entertainment. I gave you the options, fix this or let it die. You made the choice to let it die because you’ve “tried” but it’s just too much. Who would have thought that good things don’t come easy. Now stick with your choice and leave me alone. I refuse to beg you to come back.

Puppeteer or Wanting to Repair the Broken?

So, this morning around 6am I get two calls. One, the caller is silent. I say hello twice then go back to sleep. Second, I say hello once again and its him. The boy who I once… well still kinda am crazy for. After a day of not talking; He calls to tell me a joke, then offers me another, and I agree to listen to it. “Why did the native call the mexican? to tell her he still loves her.” At first, I’m not sure what to say. I ask why he would say that then he starts to turn into that beast again. “Isn’t it obvious? but i guess not. bye.” And right there… with that simple phrase which I have heard many times… I’m hooked again. I call back and ask if he’s doing this to poke at my scab of what once use to be vast amounts of love for him. Of course he claims that’s not the reason, then hangs up. We have 2 more little calls like this… and I give in, call him, say he’s dumb and that I still love him. I KNOW I SHOULDN’T have given him that power but I can’t help it. I do wish he would stop toying with me. Our final talk about being broken up for good went horribly, he was rude and I was presisant. “Stop begging, its pathetic.” That was the last thing I heard him say when I got my answer I wanted so badly. Maybe I’ll just never learn or get better. Maybe he will continue to walk on top of me and poke at my heart. Maybe he will decide to keep working on this. Maybe he will never talk to me again. All I know is that I must take hold of my feelings for him and hide them away for good, even if it’s not what I truly wish to do. I must get better. I will get better. I will overwrite these feelings.
